Staking
Staking consists in the establishment of markers that indicate, according to the land surveyor, the boundaries of a lot. After this procedure, a staking certificate, often in the form of a plan that describes the location of these markers, is produced.
It is important to note that the land surveyor must not disrupt the occupation of the property in any way, such as by installing markers should a dispute between neighbours concerning property boundaries arise. If this event, boundary marking is recommended in order to determine the common boundaries.
